أقامت مديرية ديترويت المستقلة احتفالاً بمناسبة الاول من آذار وذلك بحضور حشد من أبناء وفعاليات الجالية، وممثلين عن كافة المؤسسات الاجتماعية والسياسية والدينية، الى جانب القوميين الاجتماعين يتقدمهم الامين ايلي خوام من لوس انجلوس، الامينان الجزيلا الاحترام بشارة طعمة، ووليد الغريب، الرفيق بسام خوام، ورفقاء من كليفلند ونورث كارولينا، مفوض مفوضية وندسور الرفيق فادي ابراهيم، وعدد من الرفقاء في كندا.

بعد عزف النشيدين الرسمي والاميركي، أفتتح عريف الاحتفال الرفيق طارق سعد السهرة مرحباً بالحضور وكانت له كلمة معبّرة من وحي المناسبة. قدّم بعدها المواطن نديم سامي أبو فـواز الذي ألقى كلمة مؤثرة باللغة الانكليزية باسم نادي الجيل الجديد.

أما كلمة المديرية فكانت لحضرة المدير الرفيق سامي أبو فواز، وأختتم الحفل بكلمة لضيف الحفل سعادة السفير اللبناني في ساحل العاج الدكتور علي العجمي تطرق فيها الى المزايا التي تحلّى بها حضرة الزعيم، مشيداً بالمفاهيم القومية الاجتماعية حيث اشار الى ان تطبيقها، لو حدث على مستوى الحكم، كان سيؤدي بالامة حتماً الى الانتصار ولكان وضع فلسطين والعراق مختلفاً تماماً عما هو اليوم ولكان المرض الطائفي المتفشي ليس له تأثير على الوضع الاجتماعي والسياسي. ثم تمقدم حضرة المدير هدية النادي لسعادة السفير عربون وفاء وتقدير لجهوده خلال توليه مسؤولية قنصل لبنان العام سابقاً.

وقبل تقديم العشاء، تمّ قطع قالب الحلوى احتفاء بالمناسبة. وختاماً وزعت الجوائز المعدّة للسحوبات التي اجراها النادي خلال السهرة، وقد استمرت جتى ساعات الفجر الاولى على وقع الاناشيد والاغاني القومية الاجتماعية التي عزفتها الفرقة الموسيقية.

مما جاء في كلمة حضرة المدير الرفيق سامي أبو فواز:

ان احتفالاتنا بالاول من آذار في كل عام ليست ابتهاجاً لذكرى ولادة رجل بقدر ما هي ابتهاجاً لولادة عقل مدبّر خلاق استطاع من خلال رؤيته الواضحة أن يضع لنا قواعد ومبادئ للارتقاء بالامة الى أسمى درجات الرقيّ وللحفاظ على مصالحها من خلال وحدة الشعب على أسس نهضوية سامية بعيدة كل البعد عن العصبيات.

... ان تعاقدنا وانتماءنا الى النهضة السورية القومية الاجتماعية التي أسست عام 1932 لتكون رسالة الاجيال، حتى التي لم تولد بعد، هو تعاقد مبني على الايمان بمبادئ الحزب الاساسية منها والاصلاحية من خلال حرصنا على مصلحة الوطن وسلامة حاضره واستمرار ديمومته.

ان ايماننا بوحدة الشعب السوري ينبعث من وعينا لتاريخ أمتنا الطويل وبأننا امة تامة ذات حقيقة علمية واعية ترتكز على معرفة العناصر التي أدت الى نشوء الامة السورية ذات حدود طبيعية كوّنت لها شخصيتها ضمن حياة واحدة متفاعلة في مجتمع واحد، موّحد.

أيها المواطنون الكرام،

تعيش أمتنا اليوم حالة من الفوضى السياسية والامنية نتيجة ضعف أنظمة الكيانات وعدم قدرتها على مواجهة مخططات ما يسمى بالمجتمع الدولي وهو غير معني بمصالحنا بقدر ما هو معني بمصالح مكوناته الخاصة بدول صنع القرار الخارج عن ارادتنا. ولا تزال امراضنا الاجتماعية مستعصية كون هذه الانظمة هي وليدة تلك الحالات المرضية حيث يكاد الوطن ان يضيع من بين ايدينا ونحن لا نفعل إلا كتابات وخطب.

نشهد كل يوم قرصنة دولية وارهاب ضد شعبنا.

نشهد كل يوم خيانات تلو الخيانات وجاسوسية خبيثة تعبث بمستقبل الناس تبيع الارض والعرض.

نشهد كل يوم خلافاً على تحديد الأولويات والثوابت حتى كاد الخطاب السياسي عند البعض بمثابة خدمة مجانية لصالح العدو.

نشهد كل يوم هرطقة سياسية من قبل بعض السياسيين اذ:

هم مع تخفيض سن الاقتراع ولكن ليس لديهم الجرأة على اقراره لحسابات طائفية ومصالح فردية

هم مع الدولة المدنية ولكن مع عدم المس بمصالح الطوائف

هم مع الاصلاح السياسي ولكن مع عدم المس بآليات الفساد والنهب المتبعة

هم مع الغاء الطائفية ولكن مع عدم تشكيل هيئتها للبحث بكيفية إلغائها كحد أدنى

هم مع طاولة الحوار بوضع استراتيجية دفاع وطنية ولكن يجب الاعتراف أولاً والتسليم بحقائق لا يمكن تجاهلها بأن لنا عدو واحد، ولنا حق بمقاومته...

أود أن أنهي كلمتي بمقططفات من المحاضرة التاسعة لحضرة الزعيم بتاريخ 21 آذار عام 1948، يقول سعاده:

"نحن حركة هجومية لا حركة دفاعية، نهاجم بالروح والفكر، نهاجم بالاعمال والافعال أيضاً. نحن نهاجم الاوضاع الفاسدة التي تمنع أمتنا من النمو ومن استعمال نشاطها وقوتها. نهاجم المفاسد الاجتماعية والروحية والسياسية. نهاجم الحزبيات الدينية. نهاجم الاقطاع المتحكم بالفلاحين. نهاجم الرأسمالية الفردية الطاغية. نهاجم العقليات المتحجرة المتجمدة. نهاجم النظرة الفردية، ونستعد لمهاجمة الاعداء الذين يأتون ليحتلوا بلادنا بغية القضاء علينا، لنقضي عليهم...".

كلمة المواطن نديم أبو فواز:

Good evening. First and foremost I would like to give recognition to our guests of honor. His Excellency Dr. Ali Ajami, Ambassador of Lebanon to the Ivory Coast. His community leaders and members of various organizations. Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to thank every one of you for attending our annual dinner celebration.

I’m taking this opportunity to inform everyone, especially the younger generation, of a group that goes by the name of Aljeel Aljadeed aka The New Generation educational and culture council of America. We are a newly developed organization with a vision and mission to make a difference in our society as Americans in this great nation. We all share a similar passion to do our part in our own community proudly known as the Arab community in Michigan. This is just as start. We will continue working hard so that we may grow and have members across America. We can help each other tremendously, and soon enough we won’t just be helping each other in America, we will also be helping all of our people back home in the Middle East. The New Generation will become an added value to the American society, and will be a highly regarded example for the American people.

We’re all joined here tonight because we have one great history as one people, and long for an even better future. In order to do so, we cannot let ourselves become divided. There’s a saying in America that is stronger than words: “United we stand, divided we fall”. There is a reason for our divisions and our artificial borders among our own nation. The Sikes-Pico Treaty was only a landmark that marked the beginning of our dramas. What is worse is us being divided among each other, disagreeing on the one and most important element that identifies us as one people, belonging to one nation. You are all aware and agree with me on the fact that there is a group out there based on the idea of the Arab countries being divided and are doing every thing possible to enforce all rules and regulation under what is called “the new world order” to keep us divided. They know that gives them tremendous strength to take over our rights, our homeland, and decide our future as they please. We must become united as one people because we are one people, belonging to one county, to one history, and to one identity, not split by borders between Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and Palestine, and even worse, split within our own countries. Religion must not be a factor in deciding to partake in this group. We are all in this together as one people, not as east-siders and west-siders and definitely not as Maronites, Orthadox, Catholic, Chaldeans, Assyrians, Sunnis, Shia’s, or Druze and so on. Our similarities are much stronger than our differences. Differences can be easily worked out, but our strength is how similar we actually are to one another. The Arab community must join together so that we can unite and become the driving force that we all know that we are capable of.

As the younger generation of Arab-Americans, we have the responsibility to fight for what our ancestors have fought for, for centuries. We have such a rich culture, and we are very proud of it. The New Generation is not willing to sit back and watch it slip away. We have the responsibility to stand up for all of the rights of our people back home, and that starts here in America. We, as one community, must unite in America, and together we can influence our local governments to be a true representation of what our great leaders and founders dreamed of when they drafted our great constitutions. I promise you that we will continue to grow and soon be influencing the state and federal government to be on our side. In time we will have such a mass effect that we will be recognized at a national level, leading to the federal government playing a role in our cause. But it all starts here and this is why I am stressing unity amongst all of our groups and the younger generation.

We are a lot stronger together than we are separated. We can team up together here and put in our influence now so that it will carry over and help our people back home. We are extending our helping hand to other groups to help them carry out their tasks. Finding a common ground is our first step, and once we do that, the sky is the limit for all of us. We have the potential to be such a powerful community it would really be a shame to not join forces.

One of our starting points is encouraging education among our youth. We must all have knowledge on our region’s history. As Americans we strongly stand for human rights. America is so advanced as an educated nation; we must make sure that we set ourselves as role models for all other nations. We stand for human rights, not just here, but everywhere in the world. We must help protect those same rights for our people back home. We want to become a powerful and influential force in the decision making process of our governments here because we will not stand for the murders and massacres that are taking place in our homeland. We must stand against the corruption taking place inside the U.S. government. We must not allow certain groups, which we know to be harmful and destructive, to decide the fate of our people. We must decide our own fate; because there is no reason that our people back home should be fighting to live, while being refused the right to live freely.

America stands for freedom. Let me define this word that we truly live by here in America. Freedom, in philosophy, is the human value or situation to act according to one’s will without being held up by the power of others. Not one person in this room can tell me that there is a single person in Palestine that can claim freedom. We must stand against this, against the harmful influence taking place in our governments so that we can put an end to the horror taking place throughout the Middle East. The freedom of our people can start now. We start by being free within ourselves. We must have freedom from aggression, freedom from discrimination, freedom from stereotypes, freedom from prejudices, freedom from racism, freedom from harm, and freedom from genocide.

What does peace in the Middle East truly mean? It all starts here, by giving our best effort to influence the U.S. government. As Americans, we have the right and we are obliged to share government responsibilities and we cannot let our voices go unheard. We need our government to be fair to our peoples’ rights. That means the right for our people to return to their homeland and to determine their own future and destiny. We must not let the U.S. government support a country that is built on discrimination and hate. How can we stand against the massacres happening in South Africa and not stand against the inhumane events taking place in Palestine on a daily basis.

If our country wants to prohibit the use of nuclear energy in certain countries in the Middle East then no country should be exempt from this prohibition. It is time that we create some balance to the current foreign and domestic policies. We must share government responsibilities if we are ever going to accomplish anything for our people back home. We will forever denounce terrorism in the Middle East, and most certainly the terrorism performed by governments and in particular by the Israeli Government.

As a group, Our New Generation Council has many events on our agenda. In October we are planning an important weekend event that will be announced when the specific date is determined. Also forthcoming, will be a panel of selected leaders accompanying us in our efforts. In addition, as a group we will be headed to the Middle East. We want to visit our homeland starting with Gaza and all the cities of our occupied land. We must get to know our homeland and never forget our roots or where we came from. We will include Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and all of the cities in Palestine. We welcome anyone with the slightest interest to please get involved and help us achieve our reachable goals.

Once again I wish to thank each and every one of you for attending our annual event; We are looking forward to working closely together for the benefit and success of our community and nation.
